This social media project from AlexandLuke.com has caught the team’s imagination here at Montage!  The couple have decided to go on a Road Trip across North America using social media tools.   They are blogging, video blogging, Tweeting the trip and using Gowalla to map their progress and socialise with local social media types.

They are going where the road, or even a Tweet takes them! Genius concept!

If you are planning a social media road trip Montage recommends the following:

Use Flickr to chart your progress with pictures and remember to arrange them into sets by location or even Geomap your pictures.

Try Foursquare to add some spice by gettting info on popular places to go out. Also it will keep you amused on long journeys by checking into every location and impress your Foursquare pals on how well travelled you are, or show off the fact that you are now the Mayor of the Little Chef on the A14…

If you are looking to take a trip of a lifetime and travel around the world we would also recommend Zubworld. With 3.2 million locations on the site, you can follow local Zubs to get the lowdown on the local community and insider knowledge on those little gems to visit away from the toursits hot spots. If you like where you stay, you could even buy the Zub as a memento too.
